There are currently 901,333 properties in U.S. that are in some stage of foreclosure (default, auction or bank owned) while the number of homes listed for sale on RealtyTrac is 1,094,206.

In June, the number of properties that received a foreclosure filing in U.S. was 6% lower than the previous month and 19% lower than the same time last year.

Home sales for May 2016 were down 52% compared with the previous month, and down 29% compared with a year ago. The median sales price of a non-distressed home was $215,000. The median sales price of a foreclosure home was $122,000, or 43% lower than non-distressed home sales.
